Rank Managers and Queue Marshalls from different associations can now be easily identifiable to their passengers. Portfolio Cllr for Community Services Cllr Nomathamsanqa Kunene handed over identity reflector jackets to the rank managers and queue Marshalls Monday the 8th of February.
The reflector jackets will help reduce the confusion that people always encounter when they visit the Newcastle Taxi Rank.
“As the Municipality we are trying to protect our community from chancers who pretend as if they are helping those who seek help with direction whilst they are planning on robbing them, they had been many confusions in our taxi ranks people did not know who to go to for help but now with these reflector jackets their safety is guaranteed” Said Cllr Kunene
The different Associations will be identified as follows:
The Sizwe Taxi Association’s Queue marshals will be identified by a red colour on their tags
Osizweni Association will be in Blue.
Masihambisane Taxi Association will be using Orange.
Osizweni Boundaries will be using yellow and Madadeni Taxi Association will be using green.
Cllr Kunene urged the community to use these services because they will ensure their safety.
